last sunday, we went on a picnic trip at the marina barrage. it was a reward for my science project. i earned it with much effort. phew!!! the ramp is shaped like a bird nest, at the end was an open field where people fly their kites. however, it was not a good day for picnic as it was a rainy day.
we prepared some food for the outing. there were sandwiches (ham and cheese, tuna) and a fruit platter which consists grapes, red apples, green apples, oranges and cherry tomatoes. we also had 2 pound cakes and my favourite, the cheese sausages!
as we finished setting our mats and food, it started to rain. hence, we decided to set our base under the ramp. once we settled down, we started wolfing down our food, especially that "insectisaurus"!
after our food,the rain seemed to stop but the sky was still dark. we decided to try our luck with our kites. while on our way up to the roof top garden, it started to rain again! we were all very disappointed. we had no choice but to return to our base with the longest faces in the world! woo hoo! i bet it was a world record of longest faces!!! we continued eating our remaining food.
about an hour later, the rain stopped. this time, we were sure that it was not going to rain again as the wind was blowing the dark clouds to another side which was very far from where we were. i was the first to run up to the open field while the rest were nowhere in sight. i am so excited!!! we managed to put our kites into the sky. yeah!! it was my first time pulling the string of a kite.
jus when we were enjoying ourselves, the roar of the thunder could be heard and lighting flashed across the sky. we quickly pack our things as fast as we could and scrambled off. this time i really blew my top. it rained AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the whole day was all about eating and 15 minutes of fun?!
my thoughts for the day: we went UP.... DOWN..... UP..... DOWN..... UP..... DOWN.... OMG!!! 3 times! what a day??!!
when we gathered under the ramp once again, i was wet and tired. i was shivering as the rain was freezing cold. we decided to go for dinner. steamboat for me! my dream came true.
i ate quite alot as i was exhausted by the running up and down for THREE times. it felt great to have something steamy hot after a wet and cold day. although things did not turn out as i wanted, i was quite happy with the steamboat part. FULL!!!! PLEASED!! haha..
