last saturday, i went to the NMS (it stands for National Museum of Singapore). i had travelled past it so many times but it was the first time i actually stepped into the museum. it is enormous!
as we got in, i could feel the powerful air-con blowing. the whole place is so cold! we were quite lost in the museum and we don't know where to start. after getting the help from the staff, mummy bought the tickets. we began with the singapore history gallery. we were supposed to scan our tickets to get in through the gantry. as we walked through, a staff passed us a device that looked like a big remote control with a headphone. we were told to put it on as it will guide us through the whole tour. we had to key in the numbers that appeared on the floor and it will explain everything to us. i think it is very cool! the singapore history gallery tells all about singapore's history. we saw the singapore stone, picture of sir stamford raffles and his wife, and many more.
after that, we went to the singapore living galleries. at the food section, i learnt about the different food in singapore. i saw how satay, nasi lemak, laksa and chicken rice came about. at the film and wayang section, i saw how movies were made in the olden days and the different costumes that the wayang people used to wear. at the photography section, i saw a lot of old pictures and cameras. they were so different. now, we have photos with colours and our cameras are so small.
i had learnt so much from this trip. i would encourage you to visit if you have a chance. it is such a wonderful experience. anyway, i will try to put up some of the pictures that i had taken at the museum soon.
