This post is a bit too late. But I will still tell you about the Prefects' Camp I went to on Monday...
I went to school on Monday even though it is school holiday. I attended the prefects’ camp because I am a prefect in school.
When I am in the car, I kept thinking how the camp will be. A few minutes later, I reached the school. I saw my friends waiting at the gate for me.
About 3 minutes later, the camp started. We assembled at the hall. I am in group 1 while my good friends are in other groups. So sad I have no friends to play with. But I have a very funny instructor, her name is Mabel. She is from Serangoon Junior College.
And now the most exciting time, 3-2-1, the camp started! One of the actives we did is the river crossing. It was our favourite game. It tells us how to co-operate together. And the second game we played was netball. I was the center and the rest of my friends are the goalkeeper, goal-shooter, wing-attack, wing-defence and goal-attack. The score was 0-0. The second game was a discussion on who is good at blocking and who is good at shooting and so on. We played again and I was still the center. The game ended with the score at 1-1. This game taught us what teamwork and the importance of discussion.
Ohs! It is time for a break! Finally we can rest! We ate bee hoon during our break. The bee hoon was quite nice and I liked it.
After our break, we played the “caterpillar balloon” game. We had to chant “left right left right” together so that we would not burst the balloon or drop the balloon.
After the “caterpillar” game, we played another game called “minesweeper”. We were not supposed to communicate with each other, only those who were bombed earlier can tell you where to go. This game taught us to trust each other.
The clock struck 12.30pm and it was time for our lunch. But this time I did not like my food because the rice was covered with lots of curry! I ate the rice and chicken but it is not chicken rice. Haha..
After our lunch, we went to 1A classroom to do group work. While waiting for Mabel to print the pictures we played musical chairs. Whoever lost will have to do the chicken dance. We all don’t dare to do the chicken dance because we were too shy to dance. Finally, Mabel came back and ask us what did we do we said we played musical chairs. She said she wanted to play too. We said who lose must do the chicken dance. She said she will do it if she lost. The game started.
Nanananananananaanannana. Oh… someone did not get a chair to sit. Guess who? Mabel!!!
Our funny instructor. Let’s welcome her to do the chicken dance! Chirp chirp chirp…..
We continued to do our group work after Mabel danced for us. We pasted pictures on a majong paper. We decorated with lots of markers. Oh my god! It is break time again! This time we had donuts.
We went back to our group work after the tea break. When we were done we gave our work to our teacher, Mr D____.
The camp came to an end and it was time to give out the certificates. Everybody received one. And it was 5.15 and time to go home.
I thought the camp ould be boring but it turned out to be an enjoyable! And it was all because of the funny instructor, Mabel!
I wish there is another prefects’ camp and I am sure I will attend it.
